Foods That Cause Inflammation

Steer Clear of These Foods Inflammation is the root of a variety of issues from bloating to joint pain to more serious health conditions like cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer’s if it persists long-term. 15 Foods That Are Ruining Your Skin

Doughnuts Whether they’re made at a gourmet bakery or fast food pit stop, doughnuts are a double dose of bad news for your skin. Grease and sugar is one-stop shopping for skin woes. Soda Soda pop and other high-sugar beverages can damage the formation of collagen, the connective tissue that help keeps skin firm — another reason to stick to calorie-free bevies like water, seltzer and unsweetened tea. Fried Foods Fried foods can lead to bad skin, but forget the old wives’ tale about getting zits from rubbing greasy fingers on your face (though that probably won’t help). Nicotine can be completely out of a person’s system within hours and once the nicotine has left your body, food begins to taste better and flavours…

Cocaine vs Sugar

Cocaine vs Sugar

What’s more addictive, cocaine or sugar? You’d think the sweet stuff found in cakes, breads, sodas, and chocolate would be easier to give up than a substance so dangerously addictive that it’s illegal, right? Well, you might be surprised. Before beginning the tests, rats were allowed to sample each lever twice, to see how they liked it. Once the tests began, 94% of the rats chose the sugar sweetened water. Interestingly, rats still preferred the sweetened water even when the researchers gradually increased the cocaine dose. When comparing the brains of food addicts to cocaine addicts side by…

In fact, it might cause just the opposite. These days soda is a staple at parties, sporting events, lunch and dinner outings, and basically anywhere else beverages are served. The average American drinks almost 45 gallons of soft drinks every year, compared to around 58 gallons of water. That’s a huge amount, but our soda consumption is actually down from its peak in 1998, when we drank 58 gallons each year. This decline has largely been caused by concerns of growing obesity rates in the United States….
